Joseph P. Leach

Born in Cheshire on Feb. 2, 1909 the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Dudac) Leach. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church. Prior to retirement 27 years ago he was employed by Ideal Forge Corp. for many years. He was a Volunteer for Southington Fire Department Co. #1 for over 54 years. Joe was an avid vegetable gardener, he also enjoyed hunting trips to Maine.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Lemire, and her husband, Art, of Southington; two loving grandchildren, Caleb Cowles and his fiancÚ Meredith Aucoin, and Elizabeth Cowles; brother-in-law Anthony Blaszczyk, sisters-in-law Gladys Leach, Helen DellaVecchia, Mary Simone and Rose Simone and loyal friends Sadie and Jim Manware, Margaret and Guss Nevelos, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
