Katherine “Kathy” Ann (Stefanczyk) Davino, 61, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain General Campus, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was the devoted wife and soulmate of Gerald “Jerry” Davino.
Born on September 1, 1963, in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late William and Joan (Stankawicz) Stefanczyk.
Kathy lived her life with unmatched passion and joy. She cherished her daughters and husband above all, creating a home filled with love, warmth, and adventure. She was the heart and light of her family — always planning, always loving, always there.
Kathy dedicated 40 years of her career to Carling Technologies in Plainville, where she served in various roles, including Supply Chain Systems Manager and most recently as a member of the IT Department. Her work ethic, kindness, and laughter left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.
Known for her infectious smile, heartfelt hugs, and bubbly personality, Kathy had a gift for making people feel seen and loved. She poured her heart into motherhood — cheering on Mariah and Julia in their violin performances, soccer games, academic achievements, and treasured snuggles during favorite TV shows. Summers in the family pool, road trips, concerts, and spontaneous adventures were regular parts of life with Kathy at the helm.
Kathy and Jerry shared a love story built on deep friendship, fun, and unwavering devotion. Together, they embraced every day with gratitude and joy, creating lasting memories with their daughters.
An avid fitness enthusiast, Kathy loved her "fit fam," spin classes, and proudly completed “The Murph” workout every Memorial Day. She was a passionate music lover — especially a die-hard Jimmy Buffett fan — and an admirer of theater, having seen Les Misérables over 15 times. Musical theater outings with her family were among her favorite shared experiences.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Jerry and their beloved daughters Mariah and Julia, all of Plantsville. She also leaves behind her cherished pets; Layla the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and cats Paulie and Phoebe.
She will be deeply missed by her in-laws Jerry and Ines Davino of Oxford; sisters-in-law Ines (Davino) Kallmeyer and her husband Kurt of Colchester; Christina (Davino) McCann, her husband Mark, nephew Adam and niece Hope of Windsor; niece Lina (McCann) Grenados and her husband Kenneth of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law Sharon Davino of Oxford and countless extended family members and dear friends who were touched by her life.
Kathy was the heartbeat of her family and the master planner of all things big and small. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable void, her love, spirit, and joyful memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
