Kenneth W. Barse

Kenneth William Barse, 80, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023. Ken was born on January 5, 1943 in Long Island, NY and graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School in Meriden, CT in 1960 and then Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1962 with a degree in Engineering. Ken began his career working for the state and was hired by BVH Engineers, Inc., where he advanced to owner and president of the company. Ken was a Hartford Whalers season ticket holder from day 1 of the Whalers' time in Hartford. He was an avid hockey and Nascar fan. He enjoyed traveling between his homes in Southington, CT and Daytona, FL. Ken enjoyed boating, traveling, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Ken lived a full and energetic life, always up for a fun time. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Ken is survived by his loving family: his wife Sandra Barse, his children Kenneth C. (Susan), Dana (Kathleen), Lauren (Tracy), Randy (Tanisha) along with his grandchildren Kenneth R, Alyssa, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Paige, Beckham, Dajana, five great-grandchildren, and dear relatives Janice and Marcia, along with many other family members and friends.

Ken will be remembered with a private family service honoring his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the research of Parkinson’s disease.
