

He was born March 7, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio son of the late Fredrick and Margaret (Gaughn) Larkin. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus in Ohio where he achieved the level of 4th degree. In 1962, he was transferred from Ohio to Connecticut and raised his family in Southington and continued to work at Waterbury Farrell Foundry and Machine Company until he retired. Larry was an avid runner and a member of the Hartford Track Club. He participated in many Senior Olympics Games. He was also an avid sports fan and fisherman.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son Brian T. Larkin and his wife Kathy of Southington, two daughters Mary Margaret Valentine of Southington and Patricia Barber and her husband James of Waterbury, eight grandchildren Amanda Larkin, Christopher Larkin, Jaime Josefiak, Taylor Valentine, Dominic Valentine, Daniel Hungerford, William Lami, & Lauren Lami. He was predeceased by his grandson TJ Valentine.
The Funeral will be held Friday 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be with Military Honors at South End Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7 p.m.
