Lenore (known as Lee) was born in Bristol, the daughter of the late Edgar and Rose (King-Perry) Gauvin.
Lee began her career as the librarian at Burlington Junior High in Burlington, CT, and after moving to Cape Cod, she became a librarian at the Orleans Public Library. For the last ten years, Lee has prided herself in being the librarian at Village Gage in Farmington. She loved to play bingo, scramble, and especially poker with her many friends at Village Gate. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and UCONN Women's Basketball. In her youth Lee was a state tennis champion, and actively played tennis until she was 72.
Lee is survived by several nieces and nephews: Carolyn Reney of Southington, Randall MacInnis of Atlanta, GA, Bruce MacInnis of Wallingford, Paulette de la Veaux of Wilmington, DE, Susan Jane Stamm of New Britain, and Betsy MacInnis Lundeen of Orlando, FL, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and sisters: Edgar Gauvin Jr., Shirley Wallace, Evelyn Matson, and Betty MacInnis.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Village Gate for their kindness and assistance throughout Lee's residence in their beautiful facility.
To honor Lee’s life and her enduring love of animals, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
A Memorial Service will be held at Village Gate at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Orleans, MA at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, is assisting with arrangements.
