

Lucille (Larson) Mongillo, 91, of Southington, widow of Albert J. Mongillo, passed on Monday, May 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 27, 1923 in Southington to the late David and Nan Larson.
Prior to retirement, she operated the Larson's fruit stand on Queen St., with her loving husband. For several years, Lucille also owned and ran Kountry Kids, a children's clothing store in Plainville. She was a talented artist, and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Calendar House.
Lucille is survived by her devoted children, Laurie Mihkels; David and wife Denise Mongillo; Richard and wife Geraldine Mongillo; Ronald Mongillo; MaryLou Mongillo; and Michael Mongillo. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Shawn and wife Cathy Cormier; Amy and husband Ben Morse, David Bahlinger; Katie Mongillo; Melissa Caballero; Gina and husband Tony Lombardi; Genna Mongillo; and James Mongillo, as well as eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Larson and his wife Marie. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Hans Mihkels, sisters Ruth Upson, Valborg Proudman and a brother, Carl Larson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Guest from Southington and Dr. Richard Soucier from St. Francis Hospital for their longtime love and care, along with the nurses from Masonic Care and the VNA of Southington.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m., at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 7 from 4 - 7 p.m.
