

Lucille Ann (Geremia) Spadjinske, 83, of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was the beloved wife of Gerald P. Spadjinske for sixty years.
Born on November 23, 1941, Lucille was the daughter of the late Flavo and Mary (Mancino) Geremia. A compassionate and dedicated caregiver, Lucille was a graduate of the Meriden-Wallingford School of Nursing and spent her career as a registered nurse at the former Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington. In 2009 she received the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. She retired after fifty years in nursing.
Lucille was known for her kind heart, her love of animals—especially cats—and her passion for gardening and walking. Her nurturing spirit extended well beyond her profession, touching the lives of everyone who knew her.
In addition to her devoted husband Gerald, Lucille leaves behind her children, Jeffrey Spadjinske and his wife Annette of Tolland, and Mary Lou Geremia and her husband Salvatore of Cheshire. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Victoria and Joshua Geremia, and Alaina and Jarrod Spadjinske. Lucille is also survived by her brother Gregory Geremia, her sister Karen D’Addario, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Susan Marie Spadjinske, and her brother Gustave Geremia.
Family and friends are invited to honor Lucille’s life during a visitation on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:15 AM from the funeral home to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
