Marianne N. Dudac, 80, of Southington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late George S. Dudac Sr., with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. A fiercely dedicated mother, a nurturing teacher, and a generous, creative spirit, her absence leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born in Derby to Stanley and Anna (Kichard) Narowski, Marianne Dudac was the embodiment of unconditional love and tireless devotion. She is survived by her four adoring children, Dr. Yvonne Greene and her husband Dr. Jim Greene of Atlanta, GA, Janine Patil and her husband Dr. Sunjay Patil of North Kingstown, RI, Yvette Dudac, and George S. Dudac Jr. and his wife Samantha, all of Southington, CT, and her five cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Josie, Gage, Jeela and Jhavin. She also leaves two sisters, Patricia Narowski and Julia (Arturo) Ponce, three brothers, Stanley Narowski Jr., John (Vivian) Narowski, and Greg Narowski, and multiple nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy and her life's masterpiece, a source of endless pride and love.
Beyond her roles as a loving mother, adventurous sister, and warm-hearted friend, Marianne was an intellectual powerhouse who excelled in numerous academic and extracurricular pursuits. After graduating from Notre Dame High School, Marianne attended Sacred Heart University, majoring in Mathematics, and was a consistent Dean’s list student. She was named to the 1966-67 Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges, a prestigious national recognition program for outstanding campus leaders and scholars.
Marianne received her Master's in Mathematics at UCONN and her Master's in Education at Southern Connecticut State University. She leaves a legacy of curiosity, resilience, and compassion that will continue to inspire her family and community.
For 20 years, Marianne shared her passion for learning as a dedicated Catholic school teacher. Beyond the classroom, she was a true force of nature in her community. As the PTO President for an incredible 14 years, she channeled her endless energy into countless events and fundraisers. Her creativity knew no bounds, and her legendary event planning made every occasion magical for students and families alike. After retiring from teaching, Marianne became the education specialist at Lake Compounce Amusement Park.
A true original, she was a dedicated advocate for the power of laughter, a passion that she pursued with enthusiasm throughout her life. Her commitment to joy was perhaps best exemplified by her avid participation in humor conferences. She firmly believed that humor was a universal language and a vital coping mechanism for life's challenges.
Marianne also found immense joy in the simple beauty of the world. A lover of nature, she could often be found walking her cherished backyard, finding peace and inspiration in the quiet splendor of the outdoors. Her generosity was as boundless as her creativity; she gave selflessly of her time, talents, and resources to anyone in need, and opened her home and heart to the whole family over the years.
Her legacy is not just in the lives she touched but in the gentle warmth, grace, compassion, and beauty she brought to everything she did. She taught us to see the magic and humor in everyday moments, the importance and joy in giving back, and the enduring power of kindness.
A memorial service will be held at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, CT, on January 8, 2026, at 11 am. There are no calling hours.
Her life was a testament to the belief that even in the most difficult times, finding a moment of humor could make the day brighter. In honor of her memory, we ask that you take a moment each day to appreciate the fragile adventure of life and never stop smiling.
