She was born March 2, 1923 in Louisville Quebec, Canada and was the daughter of the late Claude and Alice (Barnard) Hubert.
Marie also known to many as Irene retired from Stanley Tool in New Britain. She was a member of SARC, Stanley Bowling, Stanley Seniors, St. Anne’s Ladies Society and St. Jeans Bingo. She was an avid bingo player and loved to play cards and dice.
She is survived by her two daughters, Andree Levesque and husband Alfred of Newington and Linda Butler of Bristol; three grandchildren, Todd Levesque and wife Kate, Jennifer O’Day and husband Adam and Sean Butler and wife Alicia; eight great-grandchildren, Morgan, Evan, Cody, Andrew, Ethan, Ryan, Sarah, Gabriella and Lyla along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Mark P. Lafontaine; three brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Pines at Bristol Center for Health and rehabilitation for their care and support for Irene in her last years of life.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 98 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting with the arrangements.
