Marion Lawrence

Marion E. (Karolkowski) Lawrence, 85, of Southington, beloved widow of William C. Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Orchards of Southington. Marion was born in the Bronx, NY on March 19, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Monaghan) Karolkowski. Marion was an adventurous woman, travelling to all parts of the world with her husband Bill. She always could be found reading a good book, keeping up with current affairs and spending quality time with her family. Marion was a member of St. Casimer’s Church in Terryville where she was also a member of the Woman’s Guild. She was also a former Sunday school teacher at St. Patrick’s in Roxbury. Marion was a beloved mother to her two daughters, Linda Lawrence of Thomaston, and Karen Lawrence and her husband, Frank Corsetti of Terryville. She was also “Nana” to Katherine DeTore and her husband John of Texas, Diana Bernard and her husband Craig of Goshen, Laura Hansen and her husband Jeremy Bachrach of California, Emily Bennett and her husband Steve of Brooklyn, NY and Erin Royer of West Haven. Marion was a doting great-grandmother to Hannah Bernard, Juliana Bernard, Liam Bernard, Alexandra Bernard, Mable Ann DeTore and Jackson O’Brien. She is also survived by her brother Peter Karolkowski of Florida. Marion was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Campbell and her two brothers, Joseph and James Karolkowski and by her grandson, Michael Hansen who is now showing her around Heaven. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. A Mass of Christian Burial for Marion will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Casimer’s Church, 19 Allen St. Terryville. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s cemetery in Bristol where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, William.
