Matthew Schaffer

(Bitel) Schaffer Sr. Matt was born on May 18, 1981 in New Britain.

He was a graduate of Southington High School class of 1999 and was employed by UPS in Hartford. Matt was also a parishioner of St. Dominic Church and a former member of the National Ski Patrol.

Besides his parents he is survived by several aunts uncles and cousins.

Matt was predeceased by his brother John W. Schaffer Jr., maternal grandparents Helyne and Walter Bitel and paternal grandparents John and Ruth Schaffer.

The funeral will be held on Saturday July 15 at 9:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a mass at 10AM. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
