Maureen Lyon

She was born on Aug. 19, 1954 in Bristol, the daughter of Austin Tedesco, and the late Joyce Tedesco. She was a graduate of Bristol Central High School. She received her master’s degree in speech and language pathology from Southern CT State College and had worked as a speech and language pathologist in the Waterbury School Systems for 35 years. She loved her profession and working with children especially with the staff and children at Bunker Hill School for 25 years. She loved spending time entertaining family and friends, the theater, the beach, hiking and traveling.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Lyon of Stony Brook, NY, a brother, Brian and wife Wendy Carty of Rockville, 2 sisters, Cynthia and husband George Jones of Vienna, VA and Nancy and husband Daniel Benusis of Bristol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 pm.
