

Miguel Angel Rosario, 83, of Plantsville, CT passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut after a lengthy illness. Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on October 8, 1942 to the late Francisco Rosario and Cruz Antonia Rivera, Miguel lived a life defined by devotion to family, kindness, creativity, and laughter.
Miguel spent many years in New York before making his home in Connecticut. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Archdiocese of New York, where he worked faithfully as a facilities supervisor. Miguel left a lasting impression on all who knew and worked alongside him, as he was known for his strong work ethic and generosity.
Outside of work, Miguel embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. He had a deep love for the Martial Arts. Proudly earning his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do through discipline and perseverance. Miguel found peace and joy in gardening and woodworking and enjoyed playing Dominoes with family and friends. Music moved his soul, as did his love of poetry, which he often wrote himself. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, he never missed an opportunity to tell a joke and bring a smile to those around him. Miguel created beauty with his hands and with his heart.
Above all else, family was the center of Miguel’s life. He was a generous, loving, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose presence brought comfort and strength to those he loved.
Miguel is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kitty Rosario; his daughters, Lisette Gago and her husband Will, and Myrna Rosario; his cherished grandchildren, Alissa, Michael, and Fred Gago. He is also survived by his sister, Eva and her husband William Agosto; and his brother, Francisco Rosario and his wife Jenny, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Luis Antonio, Jorge, and Elias Rosario.
Miguel’s warmth, wisdom, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Miguel’s family is deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, and medical teams who provided him with care and compassion throughout his illness.
He will be honored with a visitation on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:45 am at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
