

She was a dental assistant for twenty years, starting that career with Dr. Saul Goodman in Plainville and later with Dr. George Richman in New Britain.
Millie was the Republican registrar of voters in Plainville for 27 years and prior to that, the deputy registrar for seventeen years. She was a member of ROVAC, the Registrars of Voters association of CT. She retired at age 80.
She was a member of the Plainville Housing Authority for eight years and vice-chairman for two years. During her tenure she helped usher in the first housing for the elderly in Plainville.
Over the years she was a member of the Republican Town Committee, the Italian Woman's Civic Club (for which she served as President), The Plainville Women's Club, and a very active member of the Girl Scouts of America, having been a leader for her daughter's troop.
After retirement she moved to Southington to live with her daughter and family at Karabin Farms. There she relished the myriad of activities on the farm, particularly running her snack shack in the fall. Affectionately known as Gram to many, she made an indelible impression on her customers and the farms' student workers.
She is survived by her three children; Diane (Michael) Karabin of Southington, Beth (John) Gasparini of Plainville, and Marc (Jody) D'Antonio of Terryville, a sister Patricia A. Conklin of Providence, R.I.
Additionally she leaves eleven grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott Ahern) Karabin-Ahern, Stormie (William) Morrison, Joshua (Anna) Karabin, Lucas Karabin, Priya Karabin, Tessa (John) Mah, Shannon (Ronald) Jones, Dea (Danny) Laviero, Colleen Gasparini and fiancée James Brochu , Gabriel D'Antonio and Hunter D'Antonio.
Her twelve great-grandchildren include; Jackson, Lila and Leo Karabin, Kara and Michael Ahern, Beauden and Tenley Morrrison, Grace and Henry Mah, Cole and Mason Jones and Madison Laviero.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Leo, and a brother, Sgt. Thomas C. (Buddy) Poland.
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses from Vitas Healthcare for their tender and attentive care.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
