

Southington- Pearl Rose (Lagasse) (Grenier) Montagano of Southington, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. She was the widow of Domenic F. Montagano.
Born on April 9, 1929 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Etienne H. and Annette (Baril) Lagasse. Pearl was a longtime native of Waterbury, attending St. Anne?s grammar school and Waterbury Catholic High School. She owned and operated rental properties in Waterbury for many years. She also helped numerous others get a start in their own business endeavors. As an avid traveler, one of her joys in life was seeing the world. She was a founding member of the Pioneers Investment Club, a long-time member of the 65-70 Investment Club and a member of the ABWA. She was also an avid card player, a member of the ?Claws? card club for fifty-plus years and more recently, the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club, as well as her Tuesday and Friday clubs.
She is survived by her loving family: her children, Keith Grenier and his wife Sandra of Plymouth; Lynn Grenier and her husband Scott Herold of Southington; Guy Grenier of Waterbury; Scott Grenier and his fiancée Heather Lass of Terryville; her long-time loving companion, Arthur Smith of Southington, three brothers, Roger Lagasse and Paul Lagasse of Waterbury, and John Lagasse of Wolcott; two sisters, Bella Nadeau of Waterbury and Jannette Stevens of Thomaston; three grandchildren, Lenore Bruno of Middlebury, Bryan Joyce and Vanessa Joyce of Southington; two great-granddaughters, Livia and Ava Bruno and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
