

Laguna Beach, CA- Peter ?Rodney? Fazzone, formerly of Southington, passed away on September 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with brain cancer (GBM IV), surrounded by family at home in CA. He was the beloved husband of Christina (Marchione) Fazzone.
Peter was born in Waterbury on November 6, 1939, the son of the late Peter N. Fazzone and Edna (Johnson- Fazzone) Read.
Peter was a self-made entrepreneur; he began a manufacturing company in the early 60?s named Supreme-Lake Manufacturing, which is still located in Plantsville. During the late 70's, Rod relocated his family to Farmington where he spent many years bringing the Mill Stream Manor back to life. During the mid 80?s he sold Supreme-Lake Manufacturing Company to his brothers and brother-in-law to focus his attention on his other manufacturing company KIP Incorporated located in Farmington. This company would triple in size under his leadership allowing him the freedom to pursue many other interests. Rod was a collector of rare automobiles, many of his vehicles won prizes while being showcased at car shows in New England. He was a long standing member of the T-bird Club of CT. Rod enjoyed sailing and had two sailboats that he docked in Niantic. He also enjoyed traveling in his helicopter for several years, which was stored at Robertson Airport in Plainville.
Rod was an avid golfer and spent many days on the golf course with friends at the Country Club of Farmington. His love of the sun would bring him to purchase a home in FT. Lauderdale, FL and then Laguna Beach, CA where he retired. During the past 16 years Rod explored many exotic places with his wife Christina.
Besides his wife, Rod leaves behind his loving and devoted family, his daughter Tracey Mencio and her husband Stephen of Avon, son Peter (Kip) Fazzone and his wife Noelle of Simsbury and step-son Brandon Marchione of Laguna Beach, CA. ?Big Daddy? adored his four granddaughters, Chelsea & Morgan Mencino & Abby and Katie Fazzone. Rod is survived by his sister, Marlene Archer and her husband Tim from CA, two brothers, Robert Fazzone and his wife Jenny and Richard Fazzone and his wife Dyan all of CT and FL;
his favorite aunt Ruth Snyder along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joann Calabro of Southington.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St., Southington.
