

Peter Alan Hermance, 68, of the Plantsville section of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain, CT. He was the devoted husband of the late Andrea (Santulli) Hermance.
Born on August 1, 1957, in Fremont, Michigan, Peter was the beloved son of Alicia (Van Zoeren) Hermance of Schenectady, NY, and the late Myron E. Hermance, Jr.
Peter proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the IT industry before his retirement. A man of faith and fellowship, he was a member of the Church of Christ Congregational, Newington, where he sang in the church choir, and served as Past Master of Valley Lodge #36 Freemasons.
Beyond his professional and community life, Peter was known for his warmth, humor, and generosity. He loved watching the races while camping at Lime Rock Park, and his greatest joy was cooking for his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Peter is survived by his two loving sons, Trevor Hermance of Lebanon and Andrew Hermance of Bristol; six siblings and their spouses, Susan (Alfred) Fedak, Albany NY, Dirk (Anastasia) Hermance, Hubbard, OH, Melanie (Russell) Lee, Ballston Spa, NY, Gay (William) O’Brien, Ballston Spa, NY, Rhonda Hermance, Niskayuna, NY, and Philip Hermance, Schenectady, NY; his foster sister, Lynda Evans of Totowa, NJ; ten nieces and nephews, along with nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Additionally his three aunts and one uncle, 16 first cousins and numerous second cousins join in mourning his loss. He leaves behind his dearest companion, Irene Ludemann, of Plantsville.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11 AM at the Community Reformed Church of Colonie, 701 Sand Creek Road, Albany, NY. Floral tributes can be made through Holland Flower Shop, www.hollandflowershop.com/sympathy
Burial will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, CT. A celebration of his life will be held at his home church in Newington, CT in the near future.
