

Rich was a kind and thoughtful soul who will be missed by all who knew him. He was an avid traveler and loved the outdoors. Starting at a young age he spent summers traveling with his family in their motorhome, exploring America and spending time at their cabin in Maine.
In 1989 Rich married his soulmate Elaine (Smith) and they moved to New Hampshire. They continued to travel and experience new adventures throughout their lives together including trips to Ireland, Munich Oktoberfest, the winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Jamaica, numerous ski trips and countless camping trips.
Rich was a long-term member of Rolling Thunder NH Chapter 1 and spent many Memorial Day weekends on his Harley in Washington DC. Rich loved riding his motorcycles and was proud to be a member of Rolling Thunder and all it represents for Veterans. He also belonged to the Pioneer Sportsmen Club.
For over 16 years Rich was employed by the State of New Hampshire and was well known in the Walker building and NH Archives building where he was a maintenance mechanic. Rich truly enjoyed his job and the many great friends he met there who supported him during his illness.
Rich was born to the late Richard W. and Anna (Games) Brown in Fitchburg, MA. Rich grew up in Connecticut and remained close to many of his childhood friends throughout his life.
In addition to his wife Elaine of Henniker, Rich leaves his father-in-law Richard Smith and partner Kay Evans of Bristol, CT, sister-in-law Marcia Smith of Southington, CT, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn (Smith) and Scott Bjorklund of Terryville, CT, sister Heidi Petersimes of Wallingford, CT, his lifelong best friend Scott Jackson of Francestown, NH, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind numerous close friends, including his fellow Rolling Thunder NH Chapter 1 members, and his two cats Getty and Bode. He was also pre-deceased by many beloved pets over the years, most recently his girls Tessie and Ogee.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will follow at South End Cemetery, Plantsville. Calling hours will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m.
