Robert C. Doty

Born in Staton Island, NY on Oct. 17, 1943, the son of Phyllis (Sutter) Doty and the late John M. Doty. He was a Southington High School Graduate and had attended Southern CT State University. He was self-employed as a Specialized Taper in construction.

Bob enjoyed reading, he was a history buff and very apt at storytelling. He loved music and dancing. He had many wonderful friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Bob had a "Big Heart" and he enjoyed life and those around him.

In addition to his mother he is survived by 2 daughters, Kristin Kloster and her husband Michael of Davis, IL and Loryn Lawton and her husband Steven of Love's Park, IL, 3 grandchildren, Cade Kloster, Rachel Kloster and Reese Lawton, 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Kathy Doty of Southington, Russell and Charlene Doty of Plymouth, and Richard and Susan Doty of Venice, FL a sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Allen French of Harwington, many nieces, nephews ,cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 99 Church St. Plantsville. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Plantsville Congregational Church, 99 Church St. Plantsville, CT 06479. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is assisted with arrangements.
