

Robert F. Gionfriddo, 70, of Southington, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Summit of Plantsville after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. He was the loving husband of Marion W. Gionfriddo of 33 years.
He was born July 14, 1942 in Middletown, son of the late Robert and Vigilia (Corvo) Gionfriddo. He had retired from Art Rich Photography. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Besides his wife he is survived by a sister Elaine Bombard and her husband Jack of Aiken, SC, many nieces and nephews, a great great niece, Kianna Marie, many cousins, and numerous dear friends and his beloved dog Wally. He was pre deceased by his sister Josephine Doyle and her husband Bill.
He loved photography, sailing, crabbing, golf, ping pong, antiquing, tennis, and enjoyed gardening. He also volunteered for the Southington Library and the Southington Community Center. Bob was a quiet, kind, gentle and thoughtful man who touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
The Funeral will be held Saturday, 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington, at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will be with Military Honors at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the St. Thomas Church, the Southington Community Center or the Southington Library.
