Robert “Bob” Teele was born on August 26, 1948 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. As a child he moved to Connecticut and later made a life for himself working at Torrey S. Crane Co., Cole Surveying, and American Cyanamid. In 2018 he moved to Massachusetts with his daughter Samantha and her husband Jonathan where they took great care of him. Bob passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts surrounded by family and listening to his favorite music. Bob loved his oldies music and was known in town as “Doo-Wop Bob”. He enjoyed fishing and would take any chance he could get to be on the water. He was also a proud Marine Veteran who loved his country and told many stories about his time spent in Okinawa, Japan. Anyone who knew Bob knew he was one of a kind and was always cracking jokes.
Bob was predeceased by his mother Joan Strachel, his step father Eddie Strachel, his father James Teele Sr., brother James Teele and best friend Joey Bouchard. He is survived by his children, Scott Teele; fiancé Heidi Schneider, Samantha Oliphant; husband Jonathan, Sabrina Teele and his sister, Lisa Roberge; husband Doug. He was adored by his grandchildren who called him “Poppy”, Meghan, Justin; wife Victoria, Ryan, Olivia, Kayla and Brittany as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his former wife Marylou Teele and lifelong best friend Donnie Mackenzie.
We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lahey Medical Center for the incredible care that he received in his last years of life.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
For those friends from Massachusetts who can't make the service in Connecticut we will hold a gathering in Massachusetts at a later date.
