Romeo J. Martin

Yalesville- Romeo J. Martin, 85,of 230 Main St. passed away surrounded by his family, on Sunday July 4, 2010 at the Regency House of Wallingford after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Geraldine (Thibodeau) Martin for 64 years.

He was born March 17, 1925 in Saint Anne, New Brunswick, Canada. He had worked for the International Laborers? Union of North America until his retirement 23 years ago.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Joan Coppola and husband Albert of Southington, 2 sons, Romeo Martin and wife Donna of Plainville and Glenn Martin and wife Nancy of West Palm Beach, FL, and a daughter-in-law Rachel Martin of Eagle Lake, ME. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Jason and wife Denise of Gray, ME, Tina Davis and husband Jon of East Wilton, ME, Nickie Ricci and husband Rob of Sherman, ME, Kelly Laferriere and husband Mark of Granville, MA, Eric Martin of Bristol, Scott Martin of Vernon, Peter Coppola and wife Heidi of Terryville, Michael Coppola of Carmel, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Norman Martin.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of the Regency House for their caring compassion during his recent illness. A special thanks to a ?special angel? Debbie Nakamura for providing comfort and aid during these most trying times.

The Funeral will be held Thursday 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington for a mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 p.m.
