

SOUTHINGTON-Sandra Ann (Felburt) Post, 62, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Vitas Hospice at St. Mary?s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Post. Her spirit has soared.
She was born in Waterbury on July 29, 1949, the daughter of Tessie (Ksenych) Felburt of Southington and the late Edward Felburt. Sandy graduated with a Master of Sciences degree from UCONN. She had retired from The Hartford after 30 years of service.
Sandy loved to cook and bake and was well-known for her holiday parties. She loved gardening and water color painting. She enjoyed traveling, canoeing and biking, and just enjoying life with her husband Dick. She made the most of life and was kind and generous to everyone.
Sandy was a member of the Orchard Valley Garden Club and the Southington Land Conservation Trust.
In addition to her husband and mother Tessie formerly of Waterbury, she leaves her in-laws, Richard and Virginia Post, sisters-in-law, Susan Rech and Deborah Post, brother-in-law Tom Post and several nieces and nephews, Brian Rech, Kristin Rivera, Amy, Julia, Alan, Lauren and Taylor Post and a grand nephew and niece. She also leaves several cousins, and her two godchildren, Elizabeth and Rebecca. She also leaves many dear loving friends.
She was active in the fight for ovarian cancer and participated in ?Survivors Teaching Medical Students ? Saving Women?s Lives? program at UCONN.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St. in Southington. Calling hours will be on Friday March 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
