Sebastiano Manuele, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Born on June 9, 1935, in Benghazi, Libya, Africa, Sebastiano was the son of the late Michaelangelo Manuele of New Britain. He grew up in Solarino, Pr. Siracusa, Italy, where he proudly served in the Italian Military.
In 1962, Sebastiano embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States with his beloved wife, Gaetana "Tanina" (Gibilisco) Manuele, and their eldest daughter. They settled in New Britain, residing there until 1984 before making Southington their home.
Sebastiano was a man defined by his love and devotion to his family; a value he instilled in those around him. He was a hard-working and dedicated man, establishing himself as a skilled mason. He later opened his own successful business, Sebastiano Manuele & Son, where his eldest son, Sebastiano Jr., proudly worked alongside him, learning the artistry of the masonry trade. Sebastiano's commitment to his craft was evident as he continued working as a mason until the remarkable age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paolo Manuele, and his cherished grandson, Joseph Crapo, whose memory he held dear.
Sebastiano leaves behind his adored wife, Gaetana "Tanina" (Gibilisco) Manuele. He is also survived by his four loving children: Salvatrice and her husband Giovanni Caccomo, Sebastiano Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Manuele, Melinda Manuele, and Salvatore and his wife Michelle Manuele. He also leaves his devoted brothers, Joseph and his late sister-in-law Josephine Manuele, and Ernesto and Maria Manuele, and his closest nephew, Anthony Manuele. Sebastiano will be deeply missed by his close friend and "Buddy", Lee Roundtree.
His legacy continues through his many beloved grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply: Michael Primo, Jason Crapo, Joanie and her husband Dylan Griffin, Justen Roberts, Sebastiano Manuele and girlfriend Milena Akopyan, Tanina Sentementes, Sebastiano Manuele III, Gia Manuele, and Jonathan Caccomo. He was also blessed with his great-grandchildren: Alexis, Madison, Haley, Leanna, Alexa, Hannah, and Bella.
Sebastiano shared his wisdom and guided his family with profound insight. He will be missed, and his spirit and teachings will never be forgotten. We love you, Papa.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sebastiano's many doctors for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Michelle Dagostine, Dr. Manny C. Katsetos, and Dr. Vincent Leone. A heartfelt thank you also goes to his dedicated caregiver, Rich Stowell, for his kindness and exceptional care, as well as his many caregivers, aids, and nurses who supported him along the way.
