

Born May 20, 1927 in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Gladys (Hyde) Johnson.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, the choir and the Mornings Women’s Group.
Shirley loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing cards and traveling. Having lobster with her family at Abbott’s for her birthday was a yearly tradition she enjoyed.
She is survived by her children, Ann Egan and husband Michael of Southington, Wayne Griffin and wife Lynn of Las Vegas, NV, Gary Griffin of Plantsville, Bruce Griffin and wife Linda of TX and Robert Griffin Jr. and wife Vicki of LA; brother-in-law, Donald Bolster of NH, sister-in-law, Priscilla Griffin of Southington; 12 grandchildren, RJ, Megan, Kayla, Tammy, Kim, Candy, GJ, Jeffrey, Tina, Jason, Corey and Stephanie; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Beverly Bolster.
The funeral service will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main St., Southington. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
