He was born December 29, 1936 in New Britain and was the son of the late Thomas P. and Mary (Foley) Welch.
Tim proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1954-1957. He retired from ATT&T in January of 1999.
Outside of his professional life, Timothy was a man of many talents and passions. He possessed a remarkable skill for woodworking, creating timeless pieces that will continue to be cherished by his loved ones. His green thumb and love for nature were evident in his thriving gardens, where he found solace and joy amidst the beauty of the outdoors.
Timothy's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. In addition to his wife he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his children: Laura Welch, David Welch, and Christine Welch-Meier, and her husband Kevin Meier, all of Southington. He was a loving grandfather to Tagan and Dawsen Welch, and Adalain and Hartlee Meier, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. In addition to his immediate family, Timothy is survived by his sister, Maureen Dewey of Alpharetta, GA, and daughter-in-law, Beth Welch. He was predeceased by his brother, Purcell Welch.
