
Born in Waterbury on January 16, 1912, he was the son of the late Louis and Antoinette (Sanzero) Lerz Sr. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. For over 34 years, he worked for the State of CT Highway Dept. as an accountant. He was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid golfer.
Mr. Lerz is survived by a daughter Barbara L. Anton with whom he resided in Waterbury, a son Francis D. and his wife Elaine Lerz of South Windsor, a daughter-in-law Phyllis Lerz of VA, his seven grandchildren, Douglas and his wife Laurie Anton of Wolcott, Peter Anton and his fiancée Christine Airolda of Tolland, Lori and her husband Mark Ritch of Oxford, Vincent A. Lerz III and his wife Lisa Jo, and William Lerz all of VA, Noel and her husband Kevin Karvoski of Stafford, Nicole and her husband Joshua Oliva of Vernon, and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Vincent A. Lerz Jr., his grandson Craig Anton, five brothers and two sisters.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Wednesday June 6, 2007 at St. Leo The Great Church 14 Brentwood Dr., Waterbury followed by inurnment of his cremains at the columbarium in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
