

Bristol -On February 28th Virginia ?Buzz? Morrone was reunited with her husband and best friend John. Buzz was born in Bristol on January 25th 1935 and is the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Vanoni) Monico. She is survived by her children: JohnDavid, Glenn and his wife Loraine of New Hartford, Christina and Gary. Her grandchildren: Derek, Kaitlyn, Thomas, Johnny, Tess, Reece and Ridge. Her sisters Sylvia Imperator and Joan Monico. Her sister in-laws Yolanda Donahue, Evelyn Salvatore and brother in-law Danny Morrone.
Buzz was predeceased by her brother Frank ?Moe? Monico and brother in-law Peter Morrone, mother in-law Anna Morrone and father in-law Joseph Morrone.
Buzz met her husband John at age 17 and they were married in 1956 at the age of 21. They were both so excited when they celebrated 50 years married.
They moved to Germany shortly after getting married while John served in the U.S. Army. After returning to America they bought their own business. Buzz along with her husband owned and operated John's Servicecenter from 1961 to present. For over 51 years they had a successful business were they operated their gas station, repaired and sold cars. They were members of the largest auto auction in the U.S. Located in Pennsylvania; for years 40 years they enjoyed their business trips to PA.
Buzz loved her family more than anything in the world. She loved the simple things in life; she was a wonderful cook! Known for her soups and blueberry buckle. She loved planting flowers in her stone wall and decorating her Christmas tree. She loved telling stories of her parents, especially her father Frank who she adored and she was very close with her mother. She loved her brother so much and her sisters were her best friends. Buzz loved going to lunch with her sisters to celebrate birthdays. She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own.
Buzz and John have a log cabin in Kent that is very special and filled with memories! The family spent weekends there growing up ?riding rupps? and it is still their favorite place to be.
Buzz adored her grandchildren and they adored her; to them she is ?Mama Buzz?.
?Go huskies!? there wasn't a UCONN game she missed. Every game she had her rosary beads in her hand as she watched. She loved her home and never wanted to leave it. After the loss of her husband John, her son JohnDavid who lived with her and was her angel. He took care of her and was always by her side.
There was nothing she loved more than her husband John and she has been heartbroken since his passing. She is happy now and Buzz and John are together for eternity.
The funeral will be held on Monday, 11 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Maria Goretti Church for a mass at 12 noon. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
