Douwina Langendoen

LANGENDOEN, Douwina “Dee”
finished running her “race” on May 16, 2023 at Shalom Manor at the age of 78. She is predeceased by her husband Evert Langendoen (2017). Dee was a loving mother to Rob (Brenda) Langendoen and Deb Langendoen and grandmother to three treasured grandgirls - Kyela, Myka and Alena. She is survived by her siblings Bill (Sylvia) de Vries, Jack (Henny) de Vries, Klara (the late Ralph 2019) Numan, Greta (Jan) Haanstra, Eric (Pam) de Vries and Emmy (Mike) Perry) and brother-in-law Joop Oudshoorn. Dee is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Renskje de Vries Oudshoorn and sister Anne Oudshoorn (2019). Dee was born in Garijp, Netherlands in 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. She worked at the Royal Bank of Canada and volunteered for both church activities and the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thank-you to the staff at Shalom Manor for their kindness and compassion. The family will receive friends and family at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines on Saturday, May 20th from 6-8:00pm. A private interment will take place. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Central Community Church, 680 York Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Tuesday May 23 at 11:00am.
