As I was watching Tarzan The Ape Man on TCM this evening, it reminded me of Geoff and the many emails we had together sharing our mutual love for Johnny Weissmuller. We would share stories of our childhood growing up watching Tarzan. When Johnny Jr published him book, Tarzan, My Father, I inquired with Geoff if Johnny would have a book tour signing his book. Not realizing he knew Johnny personally, Geoff contacted Johnny and unfortunately he said there were no plans.  Bummer! Suprisingly he reached out to Johnny for me again and he offered to have my book personally inscribed. Johnny was kind enough to share his home address with me and we set up the delivery aspects and I received my autographed book within a week. I am so very grateful that Geoff went out of his way to make this dream of mine come true. We have never met personally but we were able create a wonderful relationship thru our emails. He is truly a wonderful and caring gentleman. I will always remember him.

I am truly saddened to hear about Mr. St. Andrew’s passing. He taught me Spanish and French at SWC in the late 70’s and thanks to him I won awards both in high school and later University and continue to use it to this day. We enjoyed his style of teaching, he was clearly passionate about languages and culture. Thanks to him I was introduced to Edith Piaf and Mirelle Matthieu ..after a late violin or choir rehearsal I was astounded at how well he played the piano. He was most definitely a Renaissance man. I last saw him in the mid-90’s. May the many testaments of people whom he touched bring much comfort. To his family the world truly lost a talented and genuine human being.  May he Rest In Peace. 

Geoff taught me French and Spanish at SWC in 1979-1982.  I really appreciated his attentive leadership.  I consider him a friend and am sad to discover his obituary.  He was a good person.  Sherri Vallee, Ottawa, Oct. 2018.

I had no idea Geoff had passed away.  I'm so sad. We became friends when I decided to record Tarzan music for my record label, and we got together when he'd come to town to interview old movie stars and visit Tarzana and places like that.  What a wonderful person.  I had wondered why I hadn't heard from him lately.  And I had a question that only Geoff would have known the answer to.  If anyone cares to write, I'd love to hear from you

On hehalf of Mr. St. Andrews' many former students in St. Catharines, I wish to express my condolences to his brother David and the extended St. Andrews family.
He was a warm and positive person who made learning fun and made us feel good about ourselves.
His enthusiasm for foreign languages and grammar was a source of inspiration to all of us, and particularly to me, since I went on to major in Spanish and earned a Master's degree from the University of Toronto.  The world has lost a remarkable human being, but heaven has gained a scholar, a linguist and an amazing educator.  R.I.P. my mentor.

I just heard of Geoff's passing this week and was deeply saddened by it.  I was one of his students in high school and later became a colleague in education.  I was always impressed by his thorough knowledge of French.  He was an inspiration.

Things you might not know about my Uncle Geoff...
He made great 25-vegetable salads, and the best pies.  He swam like Tarzan, and played Piano just like Aram Khachaturian (composer of a piece Uncle Geoff would play whenever I requested - Sabre Dance!)
I miss you Uncle Geoff. I got a warm feeling whenever you told me I reminded you of your mom.  I'll expect you, Gram, Grandpa, and Shannon when I finally get to be in the COJE gallery   ;o)  
I hope they give wild African Elephant rides where you are.

Sincere sympathy to the St Andrew's family.  The Goderich Duplicate Bridge Club has lost a good friend. We shall miss Geoff.  May he rest in peace.

I worked with Geoff for about 15 years.  He was my department head at Sir Winston Churchill High School. Geoff was inspiring.  He was very generous with his time.  Geoff loved learning and loved sharing what he had learned.  His interests were broad. And you could always count on Geoff to be pleasant and positive and to display a great sense of humour. He will be remembered fondly.

TEACHERS
For years Mom & Dad would stay at Geoff's when we were visiting, Grandma and Grandpa St. Andrews, and they would bring me along. Not much for an 8 year old too do, at Uncle Geoff's house, but watch movies and play with the dog. So Wolf and I would play together. Sit Wolf Wolf would sit shake a paw Wolf Wolf would shake a paw lie down Wolf Wolf would just sit there Wolf Lie Down Wolf just sat there. This was weird, that dog new everything else, but couldn't lie down? I tried one more time, Wolf lie down NOTHING just sat there Uncle Geoff looks over at me and says It is lay down, not lie down a dog can't lie.  This is just one memory, of thousands, and the way I will remember him every time my grammar is corrected. Which I am sure will be every day. (And yes, when I told Wolf to lay down she did) We will miss you Uncle Geoff. Diane & Ken Durocher.

I couldn't have had a better brother. Since his death I think of him every single day. It has been very difficult for me to wake up each day only to realize that he is not here anymore.  I miss my brother.

I saw how hard Geoff studied through high school and even more so at University.  His accomplishments are many.  He was named "The Historian" by Johnny Weissmuller's family, a great accomplishment indeed. I love my brother Geoff very much and I know we all will miss him greatly.
