

Born July 9, 1928 in St. Catharines, and lived in Merritton, until he moved to California in 1966. Passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at his home in Palm Desert, CA in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Bruce (Patti), Brian and Brent (Patty). Proud grandpa of Steven (Melissa), Janelle (Gavin) and Joseph. Great-grandfather of Amanda and Gavin; all of Southern California. Predeceased by his first wife Marguerite and his infant daughter Lorna. Survived by several cousins in both Canada and the USA. Ian was employed as an electrician at the Domtar Pulp & Paper Mill in Merritton and continued on with his trade in California until retiring in 1990. He was a lifelong member of #614 Adanac Lodge, receiving his 50 year pin this year. Ian was very active in baseball and hockey in Merritton for many years. He will be remembered and missed by many.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346). A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill.
