

August 22, 1934 – May 16, 2012
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Jean Marie Mallabar announces her passing away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at home with her family by her side. Mom is finally at peace after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. She is survived by her children; Mona (Bruce), Joe, Wanda Lick (Rick), Larry (Cathy) and Cam (Susan). She will be greatly missed by her wonderful, loving grandchildren; Courtney (Leonard), Sheri (Tony), Ashleigh (Paul), Jamie Curtis, Brian Lick (Joanna), Barbara Jean Lick, Mike, Sarah and Quinn. Mom will be missed by many friends and especially by her two lifetime friends; Barb Roland and Lucy Rogez.
Mom was born is Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on August 22, 1934. She was the daughter of Effie and Herbert Nash. She moved to St. Catharines when she was sixteen and it was here she met the love of her life; George. Mom is survived by brothers; Charles, Reuben, Rev. Arthur(Emily) and Les Nash (Ruth) and sisters Eileen MacLennan, Barbara Andrews and Ida Kinslow. She will be sadly missed by in-laws Wynne and Richard Evans and Tomm and Darlene Stopard. She is survived by several in-laws including Pat (George), Gladys (Clayton), Pat (Allie), Ken Anderson (Delores). She is predeceased by brothers Jackie, Allie, Herbie, Clayton, Philip, Clayton, Philip, George, Wallace, Jimmy; sisters; May (Charlie Boutilier), Delores, Margaret and Lillian. She is predeceased by in-laws; Marilyn, (Charles), Shirley (Philip), Marie (Jackie), Nook (Herbie), Albert Kinslow (Ida) and Jesse MacLennan (Eileen). Mom enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved family times, going to church, travelling and playing Bingo. Mom never go over the death of her husband George (1986) and her sister Delores (2002).
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 2 – 4 an d7 – 9 at the Hulse & English Funeral home, 75 Church Street. The funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 99 Ontario Street on Saturday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 am with viewing and visitation from 10:00 until 10:45.
