

John (Jack) Borrowman – passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday August 21st at the St. Catherine’s General Hospital. John will be sorrowfully missed by his beloved wife of 66 years Elizabeth (Beth) Borrowman, son John Borrowman and wife Cathy of Picton, Daughter Kelly Winters & husband Robert of Milton, sister Barbara Pogue of Bracebridge, Grandfather “Papa” of Carley, Joshua, Robert, Brandi, Sarah & Bill. A D-Day veteran, Jack belonged to the 1st Canadian Parachute battalion attached to the 3rd brigade of the 6th British Airborne division who parachuted into Normandy in 1944. Upon return from WWII Jack married the love of his life, pen-pal and his best friend Bill’s sister, Elizabeth. He went on to work for Canadian Rogers Eastern Limited for the next 55 years specializing in architectural stainless steel. An avid sportsman, Chairman of the Board for the Board of Trade Woodbridge, Floridian Boca Raton snowbird, he enjoyed life to its fullest. Our thanks to the wonderful staff of the General 2nd floor team, who cared with great compassion and understanding. Arrangements are entrusted with the HULSE AND ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines, ON (905-684-6346), with services being held in the Hulse and English Chapel on Friday, August 26th at 1:00 PM.
