John Arthur MacPherson

John Arthur MacPherson, peacefully passed away at the Welland Hospital on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 90 years of age, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Marian MacPherson (nee Marsh) of 71 years. Loving father of Cathy (Joe), Deborah (Gino), and Steven (Terri). Proud Grandfather to Samantha, James, Joe Jr., Christopher, Kasandra, great-grandfather to Johnny, Hannah, Noah, Abigail, Madelyn, Lillian, Alyson, Sophia, Cohen, Creed. Survived by his sister Grace (Peter) and brother Sandy (Rosalee).

John is predeceased by his parents Edward Orland MacPherson, Margaret (nee Porter) Macpherson and Ellaruth Barnett and brothers Robert (Marie), Ken and Ron Snider.

John was a heavy equipment operator for Ed Macpherson Construction, the Sir Adam Beck 2 Power Station, Ruben Steel and Ken's Salvage. In his retirement, he started his own business, J. Mac Maintenance. He was also a member of the Merritton Lions Club, he dedicated 20 years at Kairos Prison Ministries and Open Arms Mission at The Barn.

The MacPherson family will receive friends at Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel (75 Church Street, St. Catharines, Ontario) on Thursday July 13th, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Church of the Transfiguration, (320 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines, Ontario) on Friday July 14th, 2023, at 11 a.m., visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Cremation to follow.
