June 1, 1936 – April 20, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of June Phyllis Court at her home in St. Catharines on April 20, 2025, in her 88th year.
Born on June 1, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario, June was the beloved wife of the late Richard Court. She was a devoted mother to Bill Court (Cindy) and Suzanne Court, and a cherished grandmother to Richard Court, Andrew Court, Nicklaus Mooradian, and Jack Mooradian.
June was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Mildred (Cox) Calvert, and her brother, Donald Calvert.
She spent her childhood in Toronto’s Forest Hill neighbourhood and was educated at Branksome Hall. June had a lifelong love of figure skating, honing her skills at the Granite Club where she became an accomplished skater, and achieved her gold level accreditation. June met Richard in Toronto, they married at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church and settled in St. Catharines, where they raised their family.
June gave generously of her time to the community, volunteering with the May Court Club and Rodman Hall. She was an avid golfer and tennis player and found her greatest joy during summers spent at Lake of Bays, both at her childhood cottage and later with her own family.
The family extends their deepest thanks to I’m Here Homecare, as well as to June’s dedicated caregivers, whose compassion and support meant so much over the past few years. We are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love from friends and family during this time.
June will be laid to rest at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the May Court Club of St. Catharines and/or Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program.
