

76, of St. Catharines, died peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie.
Mike was born June 6, 1935 in Zbuzu, Ukraine, to Modeste and Vaselina (Tarasuik) Denisko. His family immigrated to Canada at the onset of WWII, where they first resided in Alberta. They later moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake where they owned and operated a fruit produce farm. Mike attended Stamford Collegiate School in Niagara Falls. He began his career at Ferranti Packard, where he met his wife Leona (Voroshuck). He worked as a millwright at General Motors until his early retirement. Mike enjoyed sports, and he received Ontario pitcher recognition 2 consecutive years. Mike preferred quiet times with family and friends, and he appreciated music. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Leona; children Susan (Lorenzo) and Michael; grandchildren Liam, Savina, Aiden; siblings Nick, Euphemia Palkowski, Nancy Didur, Anne Skene, Olga, and Bill; nieces and nephews & great-nieces and nephews too. Mike was preceded in death by his infant son Michael Anthony, parents, and brothers John and Andrew. Special thanks to nurses, staff, and uncle John for their tender care.
