Ronald James Lebel

After a brave but short battle with cancer, Ron passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines on May 29, 2026, at the age of 61. Sadly missed by his brother Rob (Mary) and nephews Christopher and Wesley Smith and niece Stephanie (James) Crawley and family as well as his cousins.

Also missed by his extended family out west Rubina (Al) and their children; David (Jennie), Stephen (Janice), Linda Mae and their families.

Ron is predeceased by his parents Glenda "Faye" and Armand Lebel and his sister Susan Smith.

Ron was an avid sports fan and loved to watch Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and the Buffalo Bills.

Ron enjoyed his last few years as a forklift operator.

A special thank-you to Mary's family as well as Ron's friends John, Darrel and Moe for their care and support during this difficult time as well as the Indigenous team at the Marotta Family Hospital and the Indigenous Palliative Care Team for their care and compassion.

In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will a Celebration of his life at the Niagara Region Native Centre on 382 Airport Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Saturday June 6 2026 from 1:00pm-4:00pm. For those wishing to attend are encouraged to wear their favourite sports team jersey in memory of Ron.
