Today we said goodbye to you.  I think you would have liked it...we shared many stories, looked at old pictures and enjoyed your memory.
I almost don't know what to say, I almost feel I don't need to say anything - I felt that way with you, we could just look at each other and know what we were thinking.  
I will miss you terribly; I will miss your belly laugh, your quick, smart comebacks, but mostly I will miss hearing you say "i love you darling". I am thankful for the times that we had and I am especially thankful that you were able to meet my children - your great-grandchildren.  You were so very proud of them. 
Gram, you will always hold a special place in my heart.  There is something very comforting that Papa came and got you on New Years Eve...have fun...

Have just heard the very sad news of your passing. Well at least you're in a better place now, and no doubt will be looking down upon the rest of us and chuckling or tutting in variable measures! I remember you as mum's classy Canadian sassy sister, whom the entire family was wowed by. Your sense of style and ascerbic wit were much admired by me, and I'm grateful mum had a lifelong friend in her sister. That can be a rare gift! Dear Rose, we were not just sisters, we were best friends..we had a great time together as teenagers and were famously known as the "dressy Douglas" sisters. I shall always remember the good times that you, me and Bill had together. We kept in touch after you emigrated and had some great laughs on the phone, including just recently. I shall miss those calls. You'll always be remembered, everlasting love from sister Jean.

Enjoy your rest Grandma.  You always had a great and funny story about our family history. I learned much from you.  You will be missed by many.
