Shirley Louise Brown

The last of her generation, Shirley Louise (Critchley) Brown passed away unexpectedly at her home in Port Dalhousie on April 9, 2022 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert H. Brown. Also by her parents Archibald and Louise Critchley, and her brothers Jack Critchley and Bill Critchley. She is survived by her Sister in Law, Mary Kimberley, and her many nephews and a niece, and great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews and their families. All of them will lovingly remember and miss Aunt Shirley.

Born in Cochrane, Ontario, Shirley moved to Southern Ontario with her family as a young woman and lived in Port Dalhousie for her entire life. She worked as a Mother’s Aide for many families and loved all the children in her care, who also knew her as Aunt Shirley. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church and sang in the choir there for many years.

There will be visitation at St. John’s Anglican Church Port Dalhousie at on Thursday April 21, 2022 at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family committal ceremony at a later date. Shirley has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
