Thor was the youngest of 6 siblings and they lived on an island in Kristiansand South Norway. He loved to play his guitar at clubs in Norway and this is where he met the love of his life, Aase who was a singer and played the mandolin in the clubs. They married in 1958.
Thor was in the Korean War from 1951- 1953. He was able to travel during the ceasefire and in 1953, he drove Marilyn Monroe in a Tiger Tank so she could entertain the troops.
Thor was awarded the Norwegian Nobel Peace prize for the Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force. He flew the Glider and monitored the weather station where he had to commit to 1 year. It was very desolate and the supplies were dropped in by parachute. Thor was a humble and quiet man who also enjoyed skiing in Norway and when he came to Canada he became a licensed ski instructor as well as a police officer in Canada.
