Passed away at the Welland General Hospital on July 21, 2013, after a brief illness in his 94th year. Survived by his beloved wife Lillian May Splonick, son Gary (Lynda) Splonick Sr., daughter Susan Borghese-Splonick (Sonny). Grandfather of Ryan (Fawn), Shane, Gary Jr., Hiliary and Katie. Great-grandfather of Sawyer, Jayden, Stella, Sophia, and Emma. Brother of Rose Masters and Olga Harrington. Predeceased by his siblings John Splonick, Ann Komer, Francis Fitzgibbon and Michael Splonick. Walter was a WWII Veteran, proprietor of W.S. Appliance for 30 years retiring at the age of 55. He then spent his winter months with his wife in St. Petersburg, Florida. He will be sadly missed by all. A Service of Remembrance will be held at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346), on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11 am with inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
