Nickey was the daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (nee Corradina) Certo; sister of Catherine, Gory, Norman, and Amelia, and a dear cousin and friend to many in her lifetime.
Born and raised on The Hill, Nickey graduated from McKinley High School and in 1949, went to work for Southwestern Bell, now AT&T. Nickey retired from AT&T in 1994, after 45 years.
Nickey was an exceptionally talented artist who enjoyed working with ceramics. A person considered themselves fortunate if she gifted one of her floral painted ceramic plates to them.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 1 from 10-11am at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109, with the Funeral Service at 11am. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nickey's memory to The Sick and Elderly Program of The Hill are greatly appreciated.
