Arty was the best friend a person could have and would always make you laugh. I miss her so much. And all the wisdom she taught me.

I will very much miss my dear neighbor Ardie.  Due to recent health problems and having recently learned about my only brother having terminal cancer, this was terribly overwhelming to me. I wish I could have seen her one last time.  I offer the sincerest condolences and wish her family peace and blessings in their time of need.

remember her fondly and I want to express my sincere condolences to her family.  I will miss you Ardie (Ardella).

Just thinking of Ardie brings a smile - as she always greeted everyone with her smile - which lit up a room.  We played tennis for years, shared many fun times, and anyone who knew Ardie has been blessed.  Her wit, unselfishness and eagerness to experience things in life were so wonderful.  Our condolences to her family and friends.

I still find it hard to believe that she is gone. A light went out of my life.

I can't even remember the year of the first time I met Ardie, but I know it was on a tennis court. That's the reason I first knew her but that isn't the reason we continued to stay in touch over the many many years. Her wit and common sense and wisdom combined to make any visit with her a special event. Even the last day I saw her - a day this past January when I brought lunch to her house - I came away feeling I got more than I gave, as I always felt when we met.  I heard the news about her dying when I was in New Zealand and was in one of the most magical mountain/lake areas on that particular day. She was always so interested in pictures from my trips and I dedicated that whole day to her. I love her and will miss her physical presence.

I have been working with Valerie, Ardie's daughter, for several years.  I feel that I knew Ardie through her. Valerie would email or talk to her everyday.  I enjoyed hearing all of the funny stories about her mom. She sounded like such a quick witted, funny woman - just like her daughter!  I'm sorry that I never had the pleasure of meeting Ardie, but I'm going to miss her just the same!

There will never be another Ardie! Her great sense of humor and her friendship meant very much to me. Ardie was so much fun to be with. After she retired we stayed in touch. She made everything fun. I worked with her at the CAO's office and we really had some good times. I'm really going to miss you Ardie. I'll miss laughing with you.

In addition to being a warm and wonderful person, Ardie was a talented poet. Among the memorabilia that I have kept from our years together in the Circuit Attorney's Office, I remember one in particular that she shared with me about turning 40. She was well past that milestone when she wrote it, and it reflected not only her great wit, but also the energy and grace with which she lived her life. Thank you, Ardith, for being my friend and for sharing those gifts with me.

I met Ardie on a tennis court in the mid-70's. She arrived for our match with two apples - one for each of us.  Unfortunately, she forgot her tennis racquet.  She, as anyone who knew her can imagine, came up with some witty remark to explain the situation - we had a good laugh and became instant friends.  Fortunately for me, the friendship, laughs and good times continued for almost forty years.  Thoughts of Ardie will always make me smile. She was a beautiful person who will be missed by many.  Rest in peace, dear friend.

Ardith and I played a lot of tennis as partners for North County Tennis.  It was the best time and fun fun fun.  I will never forget when we were losing in the first set and I said let's lose this one and win the next two.  She looked at me and said NO....let's win this one and one more.....AND WE DID!  Oh a dear friend who will be missed but her memories will keep her alive forever.

Ardie was a jewell.  She will be missed by all in the Circuit Attorney's Office who had the pleasure of working with her.  Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Ardith and my sister Patty were  best friends from high school until Patty's death in 2011 from complications of Alzheimers disease.  Ardith sustained me through five of the most difficult years of my life with her love, razor sharp wit and humor, and eternal optimism that the bleakest days would again have sunshine.  I will miss her so much. She meant so much to so many.  Rest in peace my friend.  You have finished your course "way below par".  Ruby Holt

I had the pleasure of having Artie as a regular lunch buddy working together at the court house.  She was a lot of fun.  We had a lot of laughs.

Ardie really treated me like a son, at a time in my life when I needed guidance and love...What a lifelong impression!

There are certain people who pass through your life and leave an indelible mark.  I'm sure going to miss Ardie!

I worked with Ardie at the Circuit Attorney's Office. She was a wonderful, sweet woman. She was also a lot of fun. She was a joy to work with and was always kind, helpful and thoughtful.  My husband thought the world of her as well.

I had the pleasure of working with Ardie at the Circuit Attorney's Office.  She was such a fun, spunky and joyful person.  A very special lady.  She will be missed.
