Christine F. Spellazza

Christine was the beloved wife of the late Sam T. Spellazza; loving mother of Donna (Victor) Caltagirone, Georgine (Kevin) Schubert, and the late Phyllis (Robert) Fichter; devoted grandma of Victoria (Gregory) Iken, Michael Caltagirone, Charles (Jennifer) Caltagirone, David (Jennifer) Schubert, Erin (Garrett) Baumann, Steven (Tiffany) Schubert, Christopher (Marlene) Fichter, Stephanie (Jason) Keller, and Denise (Corey) Vaughn; dear great-grandmother of 19, and a friend to many in her long lifetime.

Christine was in the very first graduating class of Southwest High School. She and Sam were married when he came back from his service in World War II. About a year later, they opened their floral shop with help from the GI Bill.

Sam and Christine were the owners of Phyllis Floral Shop on The Hill for over 50 years. They were well-known and very loved and respected on The Hill in their day. In retirement they enjoyed travelling, and spending time with their kids and grandkids.

Private services were held.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mother of Perpetual Help (Grace Community) for their loving care of their mother, especially during these trying times of the pandemic.
