Born and raised in St. Louis, Chris was the beloved son of Robert L. Barlow, Sr. (bonus mom Judith Barlow), and the late Elizabeth “Bebe” Barlow; dear brother to Robert Barlow, Jr. of Los Angeles and Genevieve Barlow (Jeff Stevens) of St. Louis; dear uncle to his nephews Hutchinson, Lucas, Tyler, and Robbie; cherished cousin to Laura (Will) Winter, Patrick Barlow, and the late Ron (Charlene) Barlow Jr. along with many beloved cousins across the country.
Chris attended Our Lady of Lourdes, DeSmet Jesuit High School (1988), and Xavier University (1992).
Affectionately known as “Toph,” Chris was kind, funny, and soft-spoken, who lived an authentic and simple life. He was a devoted sports fan - cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and Chicago Fire. He enjoyed a good meal, quoting one-liners from 1980s movies, and going to concerts. His true love, though, was music. Chris possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of bands, albums, and the stories and artists behind the songs, and he shared this love freely with anyone lucky enough to listen.
