

Manolis, Elefteria “Ria” passed away peacefully October 8 at her home surrounded by family. Elefteria was 82 years old. She was born in Aisymi, Greece on December 15, 1934 to Kyriakos and Olga Orfanidou. In 1970, she immigrated to St. Louis, Missouri with her family where she worked as a waitress at the Majestic until she retired in 1999. She was very active with the Daughters of Penelope.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Konstantinos, her children Kerasia “Soula” and Hristos (Janice) Manolis, her grandchildren Alexandra Manolis and Christina Manolis (Jacob Strauser), her sisters Angeliki (Konstantinos) Kousari and Athena (Roger) Miller, and beloved nephews and nieces, including Jim and Bill (Gail) Miller.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Yianni, Tasoula, Giorgos, Eleni, and Savvas.
Vistation will be held at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa St., St. Louis, MO 63109, Friday, October 13, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm with Trisagion service at 7pm and also the family will receive friends on Saturday, from 8am until 9am at the funeral home. The funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108 on Saturday, October 14 at 10am. The interment will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (http://www.sngoc.org/).
