He was my history teacher in 1987. I received all A's in his class due to his great teaching. He will be missed. I salute you Mr. Hof!

Ron, Sharon & family--I am so sorry for your loss.  I just heard about his passing this evening.  He was a great teacher and friend of mine.

Our sympathies to Fred's family.  Fred was such a good friend to Jim, visiting frequently, playing and talking baseball.  Where there is sadness, joy for in death we are born into eternal life.

Fred was my teacher for freshman World History and later, when I taught at DuBourg, I shared a planning period with him.  A nice guy who truly engaged us in history class and really cared about students. Condolences to Fred's family and friends.

Fred--was one of a Kind teacher--I go back 45 years ago when I started at DuBourg and was glad to take a tour with him to the British Isles and France 17 years ago. MLD class of 1972

Fred gave me my first and best teaching job, at DuBourg after I retired from the St. Louis Police Department.  His dedication to education in general and DuBourg in particular was truly inspirational.  Even after he retired he would keep score at basketball games using a pen that he could not erase instead of a pencil so he would keep his mind on the game.  While he never had any children of his own he had a positive effect on thousands of children he taught.  That can not be equaled.

So sorry for your loss.
To quote Carl. "Where ever you go, there you are." He's with the lord now.

My prayers are going out for Fred and his family in their sorrow.  I was a teacher at DuBourg for a good number of years with Fred and admired him very much.  He was the department chair, we team taught together, he really knew his History, and he loved sports.  Unfortunately my health situation at the moment is keeping me from praying for him at his funeral celebration Mass.  Please know that my thoughts are with all of you, especially you Ron, and your family.  A good man has gone to heaven.  May he rest in peace in his eternal reward.

My sympathy to his family. I know the Lord has him in his arms and is rejoicing with all the angels.I graduated from DuBourg in 1988 and remember his class.

I never had the pleasure of being in one of his classes at DuBourg, but he was always very kind. My deepest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

I was a neighbor of the Hof family in the fifties and sixties and remember always talking with Fred about baseball. Also, Fred was a master of a game we called stepball. He was the best in the neighborhood.
Later I went to Dubourg where he taught and watched basketball games with him.
He was dedicated to teaching and was always friendly. I pray that God's favor would be upon him.

I was sorry to hear the news. The family has my deepest Sympathy and prayers. I went to DuBourg. I graduated in l965. Hold him Gently Jesus, his cross he bore so patiently because his crown today. God Bless.
