Garrett passed as gently as he lived. He was a true Renaissance Man who loved his home, his antique Cadillacs, his food, and his friends. His co-workers at MPC were a true source of joy to him and their visits brought to mind so many happy memories.
Gary is survived by his parents, Dr. Garrett Sr. and Jeanine Hagen; sisters Emily (the late Steve) Tucker, Julie (Mark) Myers, and Lucy (Bill) Jochens; brothers Alan and Chris; and aunts and uncles Dr. Duane and Catherine Hagen, and Dr. Nick and Margaret Colarelli.
Many thanks to Dr. Rafi Kevorkian who saw Gary through his final adventure with such grace. His caregivers were unparalleled in their care and concern for this man who became their friend. Enough thanks cannot be said for the hours they devoted to Gary.
Gary’s life would not have been so rich if it were not for his dear friend Debbie and his go-to man Dennis, who with his sidekick, Willie, kept Gary’s home a peaceful sanctuary where he chose to spend his final weeks. His friend, Mary Ann, will miss him terribly.
Special thanks also go to the staff of NHC in Town and Country and their physical therapy department, who work miracles on a daily basis.
Donations may be made in Gary’s name to the Humane Society of Missouri/St. Louis http://www.hsmo.org/
