Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Sagitto Jr. She is survived by her devoted daughter Angela Brown, her beloved granddaughter Joy Marie Brown, and her caring sisters Edwina Sagitto (Brigitte Wieser), Debra Sagitto, and Diana Luczak (Steve).
Janet lived a full and meaningful life defined by warmth, compassion, and quiet strength. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who continued working until she simply could not anymore. Her kind and selfless nature shone through in all that she did—she was always thoughtful of others and put their needs before her own.
She had many joys in life, both simple and special. Janet loved going to the library, reading suspense and thriller novels, and watching films of the same kind. She cherished her bible study group and had a deep and steady faith. She enjoyed traveling, especially the memorable trip she took to Mexico with her mother. One of her most cherished adventures was a month-long trip to Italy in her younger years, where she stayed with her Italian cousin Silvana and took long evening walks through the beautiful streets. In her younger years, Janet even enjoyed ghost hunting, always intrigued by the mysteries of the unknown.
Janet was also an avid thrifter—long before thrifting became popular. She had a keen eye for finding hidden treasures and took great joy in giving new life to old things.
She had a fondness for small pleasures: sharing meals at Denny’s with her sister Debra, savoring her morning coffee at McDonald’s, taking long walks, and spending time with her beloved cats. She also had a delightful sense of humor—when asked what she wanted to drink at a restaurant, she’d often grin and say, “I’ll take a martini,” whether or not they served alcohol.
Her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her kindness, faith, and memories will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
