John served in the Korean War, was a former Boy Scout Leader, and was member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed trips to Grant's Farm with his great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held, Monday, September 29, 2014, from 4-8pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa, St Louis, MO 63109. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Seven Holy Founders Church, 6737 S Rock Hill Road, Affton, MO 63123

Interment to follow at Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery with full military honors.
